Tequila Recipes The famous Margarita cocktail is the most popular mixed tequila drink in the world. Its invention can be traced to a barman, Francisco "Pancho" Morales, who served the first Margarita cocktail July 4th, 1942 in the city of Ciudad Juarez, state of Michoacan, Mexico according to a publishing in 1997 from the Ministry of Tequila. The statement says that a young woman entered Tommy's Bar and asked for a drink Pancho had not heard. Pancho acted as he knew what he was doing and mixed tequila, Cointreau and lime juice and voila! the Margarita was born. Margarita Classic: 1 1/2 ounces of tequila blanco
